WHO ARE WE?
We are the immigrant Filipino families who came to Ocala because of job opportunities, largely in the medical profession. We, too, are families enjoying the golden years of retirement.
As young families, we come to Blessed Trinity Catholic Community to maitain, nourish and deepen our Catholic faith in Christ, especially among our children and the young. Rooted in religious traditions and popular expressions of piety which are uniquely Filipino, we join the Filipino elders in keeping our faith Alive in Christ here and now. We firmly believe that our Filipino Catholic traditions are moments of catechesis and re-evangelization. These are fertile grounds for inculturation, i.e. always in creative tension between our community and the diocesan and universal church.
OUR VISION
Alive in Christ, we envision:
A vibrant Filipino-American family, faithful members of the Catholic Church in the parish of Blessed Trinity, strengthened, nurtured, and transformed by God’s life and love to a life of responsible stewardship.
A community that preserves and promotes religious Filipino tradition, culture, and values in liturgy and prayer, in ministry and ecclesial service, for the greater glory and honor of God.
